Connection to the Christian Race

 Hebrews 12:1–2

  • Lay aside every weight (sin, pride, bitterness).
  • Run with endurance (like those who mourn, hunger, and persevere).
  • Look to Jesus (who perfectly lived the Beatitudes).

Also:

  • 1 Corinthians 9:24–27 – Run with self-discipline and perseverance, as in race,  in order to win the eternal prize
  • Philippians 3:13–14 – Press toward the goal, to win the prize for which I am called in Christ Jesus

Suggested Applications

  • Assignment: Choose one of the Beatitudes to intentionally practice every week.
  • Reflection: Write down how doing this affects your spiritual life and relationships.
